The history of Mumok, Vienna’s Museum of Modern Art, dates back to 1962, when it was originally founded as the Museum of the 20th Century. Its establishment as an icon of modern art came after a major donation of more than 230 works from the Vienna Ludwig Foundation in 1981.
Since then, Mumok has grown to become Austria’s largest museum of international modern and contemporary art, with an extensive collection of 10,000 works offering a broad overview of the most significant movements in global art of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Mumok is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. You may enter at any time within the opening hours.
