Empress Sisi + Niederweiden Palace Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Vienna State Opera, where we'll begin our journey through the life of Empress Sisi. First, we'll walk to the Hofburg Imperial Palace, learning some of the most curious facts about the monarch along the way.
Upon arrival, we'll enter this luxurious Renaissance mansion to check out the rooms that make up the Sisi Museum. You'll learn all about Sisi's experience in court and her relationship with her mother-in-law, Archduchess Sophie. You'll also get to see several portraits, a miniature dressing table, onyx and jet jewelry, and even the harp she played throughout her childhood.
Once we've explored our way through the royal rooms, we'll leave the building and take a bus to Niederweiden Palace in Lower Austria. There, we'll enjoy access to an exclusive Sisi exhibition housed in the hunting lodge of Eugene of Savoy. Through these pieces, we'll delve into the life of the eccentric empress and that of her son Rudolf of Habsburg, who died under strange circumstances.
On our way out, we'll go on a stroll through the manicured baroque gardens, the perfect spot to take pictures of the impressive castle.
At the end of the tour, you'll be dropped off at your departure point in Vienna at 5:30 pm.
Until further notice, a complete COVID-19 vaccination certificate, proof of full recovery or a negative antigen or PCR test performed within 48 hours of the tour will be required to participate in this activity.
